The FOCAL WALL:
This is the first wall you see when entering the room and is her focal wall.Getting Creative with the Furniture Arrangement
Furniture Arrangement: See Above Image
We had to get creative with the furniture arrange to make everything fit into the space. To do that I moved the sofa to the longer wall and set it at an angle. This helps create a cozier feel for conversation. To fill the void behind the sofa simply add a floor lamp and tall vase with florals. The large floral prints and floating shelf add color and freshness to this her focal wall. Prime Spot: See Image Below
By flipping her two leather chairs to the opposite side of the room, her favorite chair faces out the window, perfect for reflection and enjoying the view.
ADDING HER FAVORITE COLOR:
This client loves yellow and because it adds a feminine feel, we embraced it as our accent color to stand out from the new gray walls and carpet. These beautiful drapes shown below dress the window wall perfectly.
Design Tip: Your accent color should be about 20% of your total color scheme. Where can you add your accent color? Drapes, pillows and art are the best way to bring your color without overwhelming the space.
What about the piano wall? Here are the before and after’s….
AFTER:
This corner connects all the pieces together and allows her the perfect layout for conversation between friends. The key was to find a small swivel chair that didn’t add a lot of bulk to the room. The nesting tables were chosen because of their ability to become individual tables for her guests coffee or treats.
Guilt Free Retreat Time!
The truth is, now more than ever, your mental and spiritual health needs to be a high priority. Even if it’s 20-30 minutes, you have permission to set aside time for emotional healing AND not feel guilty about it. Making yourself a priority is vital for refreshing your mind, body and soul.
Plus with COVID coming to a close, we can finally connect with our friends and what better way than to gather in your new retreat space!
Until next time, stay well, and be kind to yourself…
