This type of blind is perfect when you want light to come through on top but still have privacy on the bottom. I really love the woven blinds like in this photo (Horizon Shades) but this style can be done in lots of  stylish fabrics too.
The perks of this style of shade is that you can lift it from the bottom or drop the top down to allow light in. It comes in a cordless option (most of the time) so lifting the bottom is super convenient. When fully closed they appear to be like any other blind.
